Tony fish is a london based polymath who runs some companies, writes a lot on new media and technology and runs the Mashup series of events here in London.
He has posited a structural model for Identity, that to me seems to make a lot of sense. It’s simple, does not have inbuilt contradictions.

I’m publishing here because one of the challenges for the modern world is how to manage privacy and identity. Once we have this sorted then we can start to look at sources of identity, and I suspect they will change depending on the quadrant you’re in, and given that your quadrant may change over time (especially for those above the horizontal) then the source of identity you use for a given situation will change, and so I guess this will lead to a hierarchy of identity providers.
