I saw a great quote today, “Mobile is a verb”

Mobile usage of the internet, or m-commerce etc, the mobile part is just the facilitator, mobile is not a destination.

this is key to getting your thinking corectly aligned.

Yes mobiles come with their own challenges,

and yes mobiles are used for different purposes to PCs, however the mobile itself is a means to an end, not the end.

So when thinking about services that are accessed over a mobile phone, do not just reduce it to another channel, but neither should the mobile itself become the destination.

In my previous article’s infographic, look at the mobile usage and preference stats they are impressive, and that’s in the western world where PCs are common, if you’re considering an emerging market then mobiles will be far more important.
